Our Aim

slider 2 lunch time

We aim to nurture the mind, body and soul of our residents in a way that makes this part of their lives as fulfilling as the rest. Offering a choice of Independent living, Assisted living and Memory care options Saint George Orthodox Village accommodates the needs of our residents.

What began as a National Geographic expedition to find the longest living cultures evolved into a recipe for living longer that we are incorporating into Saint George Village. To do this is not very difficult since our model is that of a Greek island village which is also one of the blue zones identified by natural geographic.

Elements incorporated are consistent with the Blue Zone Theory of longevity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Zone):

Family

  1. comes first as we provide guest suites for family visitors to spend extended time with each other. Family members are encouraged to dine with and participate in activities with their loved ones.
  2. both other residents and staff of SGV become an extended family.
  3. common areas for social interactions encourage participation in SGV extend family.

Cuisine – Delicious Greek/Greek diet prepared by talented chefs that is balanced according to the top nutritionists.

Daily physical activity – an inseparable part of healthy living made much easier with our facilities and trained staff in sunny Florida. From Ballroom dancing and Zumba to water aerobics, a wide spectrum of physical activities are available.

Social engagement – people of all ages are communally active and integrated into their neighborhood activities. The town square will act as the social hub of the community both attracting and offering multiple venues for personal interaction. Field trips to local points of interests such as theater, concerts, and museums. Regular transportation for shopping and dining in the Naples’ area.

Lectures with topics of unique interest will be schedule regularly.

Spiritual Fulfillment– the need to approach closer to God as we age is a significant factor in our emotional health. With an onsite Orthodox chapel of Saint George together with regular services and a shuttle to other Orthodox Churches in the area, finding a closer relationship with God will be a part of SGV’s mission.
